A. Are you looking to catch a bat ray over 35lbs? I'm in San Diego, I've caught a lot of them in Mission Bay using mussels or squid in Carolina rig. I've caught them on the same size rod that you have, but the biggest I've caught was maybe a little over 10lbs and that took me a while to land. I catch them on the beach, so I end up running up and down the beach when I hook up. They are a lot of fun to catch...
