Fish meal, or fishmeal, is a commercial product made from both whole fish and the bones and offal from processed fish. It is a brown powder or cake obtained by rendering pressing the whole fish or fish trimmings to remove the fish oil. The major use of fish meal is as a high-protein supplement in aquaculture feed. The main producing countries in 2004 were Peru, Chile, China, Thailand, USA, Japan and Denmark. World-wide production is about 6.3 million tons annually. Fish and or fish meal causes offensive odors and would not be on their cousin's the polecat's diet in the wild. Beet pulp is a form of sugar which is just not good for ferrets. Thanx for not answering my question. I would rather feed something that makes their poo stinky than something that might make them ill. Beet pulp is in zupreem but its the 7th ingredient which means there isn't a lot of it in it. If beet bulp was the second ingredient then i would have worried. By all means, but don't get your oil to hot or you may burn your coating, by the time it's golden your fish is done: fish fry coating mix ingredients: 1 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal 1/4 c. all-purpose flour 1 tbsp. lemon pepper 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. onion powder 1/2 tsp. paprika In a large bowl combine all ingredients. Store in an airtight container. Makes about 1 3/4 cups mix. To prepare fried fish: Dip fish in buttermilk and roll in coating mix. To cook, fry fish in hot oil (peanut oil best) until golden brown.
