Is recreational fishing allowed in the Phillipines?
Q. When I travel in the Phillipines will I be able to fish in the streams and lakes or for that matter from the beach?
Asked by pieno2004 - Tue Mar 7 08:46:22 2006 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Yup you can fish in the Philippines as long as the owner of the beach or lake or whatever allows you to. We don't licenses you need to get or size limits... or any limit to how many you can catch like in the US.

what's all this talk about Obama considering a ban on recreational fishing?
Q. 1st thing I'm wondering is; why? is it because fishing is inhumane as studies suggest fish feel pain? next thing I'm wondering is; If this ban actually becomes a reality...are restaurants still going to serve fish? can they still serve farm-raised fish?
Asked by Lois Griffin - Thu Mar 11 23:56:46 2010 - - 15 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Every animal we eat feels pain. You can't ban foods we've been eating for tens of thousands of years just because a few radicals get an orgasm at the thought that everyones eating plants and they're saving a few whales.

Which is a good beginner kit for fishing in recreational lake setting?
Q. Zebco Ready Tackle Kit Shakespere Ugly Stik Kit Shakespere Complete Fishing Kit (please feel free to recommend any others) Thanks!
Asked by D J - Mon Aug 7 22:34:37 2006 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It's not the brand of the beginner kit, it's the bait you use. In the lower Ohio Valley, there is a bait called a popeye (made by Cabin Creek Baits in Winchester KY) that when baited with a wax worm just destroys bluegill. I will rig it with a very small clip on bobber and no sinker. With this rig it doesn't matter whether you use a stick, fishing pole, or just throwing the line with your hand, you will catch a bunch of bluegill

Are you pleased Obama and Al Gore want to eliminate the 1 million jobs associated with recreational fishing?
Q. The Obama administration will accept no more public input for a federal strategy that could prohibit U.S. citizens from fishing the nation's oceans, coastal areas, Great Lakes, and even inland waters. Led by NOAA's Jane Lubchenco, the task force has shown no overt dislike of recreational angling, but its indifference to the economic, social and biological value of the sport has been deafening. Additionally, Lubchenco and others in the administration have close ties to environmental groups who would like nothing better than to ban recreational angling. And evidence suggests that these organizations have been the engine behind the task force since before Obama issued a memo creating it last June. There are over one million jobs in… [cont.]

Anyone know any good fishing spots in Orange County California, either in fresh or salt water?
Q. I just moved to Orange county not too long ago and I am trying to find a good place to do some recreational fishing. I am ok with ocean fishing or freshwater as long as the bite is good. I used to go to mission bay in San Diego a lot, but the only places I can find so far around Orange County are the lakes they stock with Trout and Catfish, but charge $20 a day to go. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you think Fish Finders take the sport out of fishing and is responsible for lower fish stocks?
Q. Does it make it harder for recreational anglers to catch fish? Could pollution contribute to " ones that got away " stories?
Asked by mantaray1970 - Mon Mar 31 06:45:20 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Finders do not give the recreational fisherman way better odds of catching fish.It does give them help but doesnt make them feed or bite!! Now for commercials it does help because of the style or methods they use to "catch" fish by encircling them with huge nets or finding spawning grounds with beds full of fish to drop their longs lines down on.By the way these good spawing grounds are in deeper waters much to far out for the average sportfishing angler to reach but not the commercials. Pollution one's that got away who knows what you mean by that but pollution has played a hand in the loss of habitat which comes down to fewer fish!

What outdoor recreational activities are there in illinois?
Q. I'm a little north from chicago and wanted to do some rock climbing, fishing, biking, or hiking here but i can't find any areas. any help would be awesome
Asked by hockey101 - Mon Aug 18 23:15:32 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you want to be close, then just go to the forest preserve system. But if you don't mind a quick drive, then go north a few hours for the weekend and hike around kettle moraine south in southern wisconsin. Or you could take a day trip to the lake shore and bike along the miles of path the city has there. And after you get tired of that, you could take a quick drive to north western indiana to the indiana dunes state park. For actual routes, go to backpacker.com (the online site of Backpacker magazine) and area search hikes. When you want to go rock climbing, there are illinois state parks that use some of the cliffs in central illinois for climbing routes.

Shell-fishing restrictions in Outer Banks, NC?
Q. We are planning a trip to the Outer Banks and have rented a house in Buxton, NC. We planned on doing some recreational fishing using poles and cast nets and shovels for shell fish. While looking at information we came across the DEH Shellfish Sanitation and Recreational Water Quality website where it had maps with prohibited shell-fishing areas. The house we were renting is located in one of those prohibited areas. All the other sites, even where we obtained our fishing licenses do not list any prohibited areas. I was wondering if these areas are marked on this site for commercial fishing or if the prohibited areas are prohibited for recreational fishing also.

Is a Sea Ray 330 Sundancer Express a Good Beginner Boat?
Q. I love this boat, and seems to have everything Id want it for. Mostly short cruises around Chicago and Southern Lake Michigan, recreational fishing and relaxing up top at the docks. Also, what are the biggest waves it could handle? I basically have no boating experience.

A. That's an awful lot of boat for a newbie. Since you have no boating experience, I'd advise you to find someone to instruct you on everything. It's not like driving a car! I hear the comment "It's just like driving a car" all the time from newbies. As a boating instructor, I can tell you, NO it's NOT! The boat is a good boat, but you can do an awful lot of damage to it and the docks.

Can you please answer my question at the end of this message?
Q. You have 15 acres of vigin farmland in rural Singapore and you can do aquaculture, ornamental plant cultivation, fruit orchard, vegetable and foodcrop farming, frog culture business AND also "entertainment" business like recreational fishing, nature education, outdoor recreation/sport, rustic guest accommodation, spa facilities, art studio, corporate retreat & conference facilities. Now my question is - can you come out with additional ideas of new uses or activities of the farmland, while maintaining the rural ambience of the area. Uses like opening a disco/nightclub is obviously No..No...Your feedback (however crazy) will be greatly apprecated. Thanks for your time.

I love fishing so much, but this bothers me?
Q. Fishing is a really fun recreational/sport activity, particularly deep-sea fishing, but I can't help but feel horrible about putting fish in a livewell, where they are basically just being thrown on top of each other and waiting to die since they aren't in the water anymore...it seems so inhumane? Am I just being pretentious?
